Petoskey News-Review, Monday, 3 Aug 1987:
Alma Z. Eby, 84, of Petoskey, died July 31, 1987, at Bortz Health Care Facility, Petoskey.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, at the First Christian Church, Petoskey. The rev. Lowell MacFarlane will officiate. Burial will be in the Mennonite Cemetery, Brutus.
The former Alma Z. Kilmer was born Sept. 8, 1902, in Alanson, the daughter of Isaac and Katie Zimmerman Kilmer. She attended Woodland School and lived in the Petoskey area all her life.
On June 15, 1921, she married Israel Eby in Brutus. He precede her in death on May 29, 1981.
Mrs. Eby had been employed as a nurses' aide at Little Traverse Hospital, retiring in 1967.
She was a member of the First Christian Church.
Survivors include: seven sons, Benjamin and Sam, both of Petoskey, Cyrus of Seattle, Wash., Ezra of Pellston, Isaac of Homer, Joseph of Traverse City and James of Pacific City, Ore.; three duaghters, Mrs. J.D. (Anna) Barfield of Derby, Kansas, Mrs. Frank (Dorothy) Hughes of Neward, Delaware and Mrs. Robert (Bertha) Dell of Centerville, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four brothers, David Kilmer of Petoskey, Clayton Kilmer address unknown, Harvey Kilmer of Pennsylvania and Christian Kilmer of Missouri; one sister, Mrs. Anna Shrik of Pennsylvania; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Stone Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.
