Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Stackus Funeral Home for Alvin F. Hoye, 62, who died Monday evening at his home, 302 S. Park-st., Boyne City. Members of Ernest Peterson Post, American Legion will conduct military rites and Rev. LaVerne Steele will officiate.
He was born at Advance on January 16, 1899. He had been employed by the Michigan Tanning and Extract Co, six and a half years.
He was a veteran of both World War I and World War II, and was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, whom he married December 21, 1955; his mother, Mrs. Esther Hoye, Boyne City; four sons, Alvin C., Robert and Jerry of Grand Rapids and Rex of Saginaw; three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Ethella) Sturgis, of Grand Rapids; Mrs. John (Jacqueline) Crittenson of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Robert (Patricia) Gentry of California; a stepson, William Wilcox, Jr. of Morley; a brother, Wynight Hoye of Vanderbilt and a sister, Mrs. Rolla (Neta) Brown of Grand Rapids.
The body is at the Stackus Funeral Home, where friends may call. Interment will be in Maple Lawn cemetery.
