Andrew N. Salisz, 83, of Petoskey, passed away Nov. 21, 2002, at Northern Michigan Hospital.
A funeral Mass will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Larks Lake.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today, Monday, Nov. 25, at the church. Burial will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery in Larks Lake.
Andrew was born Sept. 17, 1919, in Boyne Falls, the son of Joseph and Anna (Matwiejczyk) Salisz Zulkiewski. He grew up in Boyne Falls.
On Aug. 21, 1948, he married Helen M. Klein at St. Francis Xavier Church in Petoskey.
Andrew was a wonderful husband and father. He greatly loved being in the woods, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a skilled carpenter who enjoyed his craft. He was fond of music and loved playing the accordion. He was also a loyal Tigers baseball fan.
He was a member of St. Nicholas and St. Francis Xavier Catholic churches.
Andrew is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Helen, and by their three children, Albert (Dolores) Salisz of Phoenix, Ariz., Joseph (Mari) Salisz of St. Clair Shores, and Deborah (Thomas) Laing of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and five grandchildren, Rhiannon, Stephanie, Emilienne, Elyse and Andrew. Also surviving are his sisters and brother, Sophia Bender, Eleanor Laskowski, Stephanie Olson, Alexander Salisz and Valeria Boudreau; stepbrother, Frank Zulski Sr.; and stepsister, Bernice Zmikly; and many nieces and nephews. Andrew was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph; stepbrothers, John, Raymond and Tony Zulkiewski; and his stepfather, Bruno Zulkiewski.
Arrangements were handled by Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey.
