Anna Wrona Kaniarz, 89, of Harbor Springs, died Nov. 23, 1998, at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 27, at Holy Childhood church in Harbor Springs. Interment will take place in Holy Childhood Cemetery, Harbor Springs.
Mrs. Kaniarz was born Nov. 12, 1909, in the Larks Lake area of Cross Village to Agnes and John Wrona. She was one of 11 children.
In 1931, she married John Kaniarz. The couple lived in Detroit for 10 years before moving to Harbor Springs in 1945.
Mrs. Kaniarz was a member of St. Anne's Altar Society of Holy Childhood Church, the State Road Club, Michigan State University Extension and the Emmet County Medical Care Facility Auxiliary. She made countless afghans for family and friends and recently crocheted winter scarves for the homeless.
Survivors include her children: Joan and George Liddell of San Diego, Calif., Betty Moore of Anaheim, Calif., Carole and Duane Possanza of Okemos, Donald and Nancy Kaniarz of San Diego, Judith and Robert Robinson of Madison, Conn., and Patricia Kaniarz,with whom she lived; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Kushak of Harbor Springs, and Jennie Lasley of Cross Village.
Mrs. Kaniarz was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, John Kaniarz.
Visitation will be held from 6:30-9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, at the Schiller Funeral Chapel in Harbor Springs, with a rosary at 7 p.m.
