Petoskey News-Review, Monday, December 29, 2003:
Anna Marie Johnston, 77, of Harbor Springs, died Dec. 24, 2003, at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, at Schiller Funeral Home. The Rev. Ed Warner of Stutsmanville Chapel will officiate.
Burial will be in Readmond Township Cemetery.
Anna was born Feb. 11, 1926, the daughter of Henry and Sarah Vivant.
She grew up in Harbor Springs and attended school in Harbor Springs.
On Aug. 29, 1942, she married Marvin J. Johnston in Harbor Springs.
Anna was a homemaker. She lived on the family farm located at Johnston Corners on State Road near Cross Village. She lived there until the early 1950s when she moved to the Harbor Springs area where she has lived since.
Anna was "Auntie Ann" to her many nieces and nephews and to many others who knew her.
She enjoyed arts and crafts and she collected teddy bears and baskets. She also enjoyed baking, canning and making maple syrup. Marvin and Anna loved to entertain. Anna and her sister were known to many as the Sap Sisters.
Anna is survived by her son, Eugene Warner, and his wife Pat; grandchildren Terry Warner and wife Becky of Northport, Lynda Warner of Ypsilanti, Karl Warner of Plainwell, Marty Warner and wife Yvonne, Arvin Warner of Suttons Bay, Ben Warner, Sue Warner; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Marcella Streeter and husband, Clair, of Bruces Crossing, Patsy Lacount of Six Lakes, Vera Hofbauer and husband, John; brother-in law Bill Fryczyinski of Petoskey; sister-in-laws Irene Hickman and husband, Herb, Myrtle Johnston.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin, son, Frances Warner, and sister, Martha Fryczyinski.
