Anna Wilhamina Ranschau was born to Henry and Anna (Geldermann) Ranschau. Before marriage, Anna worked in a hospital in Rochester, MN and Milwaukee, WI.
She married Lee Hass at Sioux Center, IA on February 14, 1931. The couple had two sons and three daughters. The couple lived on the farm northeast of Hawarden, IA.
After her husband's death, Anna moved to Hawarden in 1964. For a number of years, Anna was a 4-H leader and was a member of the rural study club. She was also a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aid.
Anna died at Hawarden Community Hospital. She was preceeded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, a great-grandson, a sister, and four brothers.
She was survived by four children, twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren, two brothers, and four sisters.
