From Biographical Wiki
The Biographical Wiki is a website created specifically for publishing biographical information about people who have lived in this world and whose lives have already finished.

[edit] Biographies about living people
Because of the times we live in, the proprietors of this website will not allow publication of biographies for any person that is still living.
[edit] Definition of living
Any person born less than 110 years ago, who has no death date or death information, will be presumed to be living.
[edit] Pages for living individuals
If a page is created for someone born less than 100 years ago, which includes no death date, the individual will be presumed to be living. If no specific statement as to that person's death is included in the biography, the page will be deleted.
[edit] Users continually creating pages for the living
If a user repeatedly insists on publishing information about living people, they will be blocked from editing this website.
[edit] References to living individuals
References to people that are now living in the biography of a deceased individual are allowed, but might be censored at the proprietor's discretion. The word "living" might be inserted in place of the name of living individuals.
[edit] Links for living individuals
When creating a link for a living indivdual, use the Living page link.
- Example: [[Living|Stephen D. Robison]]
[edit] Redirect Pages
In the course of creating biographies for deceased relatives, new information can be uncovered. When new information is found that more distinctly identifies an individual (i.e. a middle name is found or a complete birth date is discovered - hooray!) the name of the wiki page for that individual needs to be changed. (For more information about changing page names, see Moving Pages.)
When a page name is changed, Biographical Wiki automatically creates a "re-direct page" so that links to the old page will be directed to the new page. It is your duty as a page author to update any links that point to the old page name with the link.
Biographical Wiki Administrators will regularly go through and delete redirect pages that do not have any links pointing to them. This cuts down on unnecessary pages and frees up storage space in the database.
If for some reason a redirect page needs to remain on the list, please contact the sysops and explain the situation so the redirect page will not be delete inadvertently.
[edit] Spam
Spam on the wiki will not be tolerated.
[edit] Biography Pages
If a page is created that does not include biographical information, the user who created the page will be blocked and the page will be deleted.
[edit] Photos
If a photo is uploaded that is used to illustrate a spam page, the user who uploaded the photo will be blocked and the photo page will be deleted. In other words, photos that are not meant to illustrate a biography will be deleted and users uploading such content will be blocked.
[edit] User Pages
If a user includes spam on his user page, that, in an Administrator's view, is malicious in nature or not relevant to user identification, that user will be blocked and the user page will be deleted.
[edit] Duplicate Pages
When duplicate pages are identified, Administrators will determine which page has the most complete information. All links will be directed to the more complete page. They will also attempt to make sure no information, links or source notes are lost, copying any different information to the more complete page. When that is done, the duplicate page will be deleted.
