Clara Pope
Rites Wednesday

Clara Pope, 82, died this morning at the Emmet County Medical Care Facility, in Harbor Springs. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Stone Funeral Home. Rev. James Cranick, of the Oden Community Church, will officiate and interment will be in Alanson Cemetery.

The former Clara Woodruff was born May 26, 1891 in New Corden, Jay County, Ind. She came to the Oden area as a small child with her parents and had lived her entire life in the area. She attended school in Oden.

On October 2, 1912 she married Alymer H. Pope in Petoskey and he preceded her in death June 1, 1970.

Mrs. Pope was a member of the Oden Community Church.

Survivors include three sons, Emerson, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Vincent, of Petoskey and Bernard, of Jenison; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Oma Cooper, of Cadillac; Mrs. William (Majeska) Critcher, of Oden and Mrs. Nellie Roche, of Summerfield, Florida.
