Clifford K. Powers, 80

Funeral services for Clifford K. Powers, 80 of Good Hart, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Redpath Memorial Presbyterian Church in Cross Village. Bishop David Thornberry will officiate and burial will be in Island View Cemetery.

Mr. Powers died July 14, 1983 at Little Traverse Division of Northern Michigan Hospitals.

He was born Aug. 9, 1902 in Michigan and lived in Good Hart for many years. He owned and operated the Good Hart store and also served as Good Hart postmaster. retiring in 1971.

On Sept. 17, 1951 he married the former Nellie Sullivan in Ann Arbor. She preceded him in death in May of this year.

Mr. Powers was a Third Degree Mason and received his 50 year membership certificate from the Harbor Springs Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Sally Alverson of Martinsville, Ind., and Mrs. Dorothy Schultz of Ann Arbor; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Russell (Esther) Roe of Good Hart and Mrs. Paul (Phyllis) Miller of Ann Arbor.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Readmond-Friendship Fire and Rescue Squad. Envelopes for that purpose are available at the Schiller-Gillian Funeral Chapel in Harbor Springs where friends may call Sunday from 7-9 p.m.
