(From the history of Lovell H. Gage)
David Gage, the father of L. H., was a native of New Hampshire, and came to Michigan in its early history. He was a pioneer of Lenawee County, settling on a farm near Hudson, where he improved a homestead and did much for the upbuilding of the district. His death occurred when he was about fifty-two years of age. His wife, whose girlhood name was Lois A. Hutchins, was born in New York, and is still living, though now in her seventy-seventh year; she is making her home at Harbor Springs, with one of her children. Her second son, Franklin H., is engaged in running a hotel at Harbor Springs; George A., the next in order of birth, is engaged in farming near Hudson; and John J. is manager of the iron works at Antrim, Mich.
