Petoskey News-Review, Dec 1992:
Dehra A. Wells, 75 , of Harbor Springs, died Dec. 19, 1992, at Northern Michigan Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
She was born March 17, 1917, in Emmet County, the daughter of Floyd and Ora (Spohn) Hoover. She attended Harbor Springs schools where she graduated. She attended Michigan State University and Western Union School in New Jersey.
On June 12, 1937, she married Albert Wells and they made their home in Harbor Springs.
Mrs. Wells worked for and co-owned the Hoover Flower Shop, which was her family's business.
She was a former member of the Michigan State University Club and the Emmet Rebekah Lodge. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Harbor Springs.
Mrs. Wells was an avid bird watcher and an advocate for changing the state bird to the chickadee.
Survivors include her husband, Albert; one daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Lynn) Reinwald of Juneau, Alaska; one son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Gail Wells of Harbor Springs; four grandchildren, Debbie, Heidi, Tony and Tracy; and three great-grandchildren, Scott, Austin and Tracy. She was preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Hoover.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Little Traverse Bay.
Arrangements were handled by the Schiller Funeral Chapel of Harbor Springs.
