Petoskey News-Review, Friday, April 2, 1971
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday for Dominick Marszalec, 81, of Larks Lake, who died Thursday in Community Memorial Hospital, Cheboygan.
The Rev. Father Flavius Czuba OFM, pastor of St. Nicholas Church, Lark’s Lake will officiate. The rosary will be sung Sunday at 8 p.m. in the Gillian-Erwin Funeral Chapel, Harbor Springs. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Marszalec was born July 21, 1889 in Poland. He relocated in Detroit in 1912 and then moved to Lark’s Lake in 1917.
He was widely known throughout northern Michigan as a violinist playing for Polish weddings and parties for some 50 years.
Mr. Marszalec is survived by his wife Tillie: three sons, Richard and Frank of Chicago and Walter of Harbor Springs; two daughters, Icele of Arlington, Va. and Mary of Chicago. Twelve grandchildren also survive. A son Edward, preceded his father in death.
Friends are being received in the Gillian-Erwin Funeral Chapel.
