Eleanor was born July 6, 1927, in Chicago, Ill., to John and Jennie (Wiklanski) Bodzick. She grew up and attended school in Chicago.

She worked for Brach's Candy Co. in Chicago while in her 20s. She moved to Larks Lake where she met and married Walter Serva, her husband of 55 years. She worked at the Crow's Nest Restaurant for 25 years as a waitress. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister, Leona. She is survived by her husband; sons, Jim (Nancy) Serva of Cross Village, Mark Serva of Antioch, Tenn.; five daughters, Patty (Rod) Kruskie of Cross Village, Cindy (Rick) Elmhirst of Cross Village, Carolyn Bachleda of Larks Lake, Suzanne (Pat) Springate of Harbor Springs and Kristina Serva of Cross Village; grandchildren, Jessica Kruskie, Kim (Shane) Cole, Zachary (Christina) Kruskie, Emily (Ric) Meza, Jamie Elmhirst, Sarah, Amy and Gabrielle Bachleda; great-grandchild, Izak Kruskie; and brother, Ray (Ann) Bodzick, of Indian River.

Eleanor did not care for material things, her family is what mattered most to her. She was always there to listen and to help in any way she could. She always had time for her grandchildren and they have many wonderful memories of their times together. She loved baking, crossword puzzles, reading and watching “Jeopardy” every day. She was a kind, caring and unselfish woman who was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

The family was served by the Schiller Funeral Home of Harbor Springs.
