Petoskey News-Review, May 1991:
Eleanor E. Rasmussen, 83, of Harbor Springs, died May 8, 1991, at Rendon Adult Foster Care Home, Caro.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at the First Presbyterian Church of Harbor Springs. Tom Cook will officiate and interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Harbor Springs.
Mrs. Rasmussen was born Nov. 10, 1907, in Harbor Springs, the daughter of Albert E. and Julia Anna (Melching) Wells. She attended and graduated from Harbor Springs High School and also graduated from the University of Michigan's nursing program as a registered nurse.
She married Magnus Rassmussen and the couple resided in Harbor Springs. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Rasmussen had worked in several doctor's offices and was night supervisor at Lockwood-MacDonald Hospital for 28 years. She also served as a certified Red Cross nurse for many years and retired in 1872. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Harbor Springs where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was also active at the Harbor Springs Friendship Center.
She enjoyed knitting.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Joyce Buerge of Caro; a daughter and Jane and Louis Johnson of Iron River; four grandchildren; one brother, Albert Wells of Harbor Springs.
The family suggests memorials to the Michigan Hemophilia Foundation or the American Lung Association.
Friends may call at the Schiller Funeral Chapel of Harbor Springs from 7-9 p.m. today.
