Elliott J. Terry, 81, of Alanson, died Nov. 18, 1985, at his Alanson home.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, at the Schiller Funeral Chapel, Harbor Springs. The Rev. Rebecca Clokey will officiate and burial will be in Readmond Township Cemetery.
Mr. Terry was born Feb. 7, 1904, in Midland, Ontario, Canada. He attended school in Ontario and Saskatchewan and moved to the United States where he became a citizen.
On Aug. 23, 1934, he married the former Anna Kempainen in Detroit.
The couple made their home there until moving to Harbor Springs in 1943. They resided there until 1967 when they moved to Homasassa Springs, Fla.
Mr. Terry had worked as a supervisor at Petoskey Manufacturing for approximately 20 years, retiring in 1966. Mr. and Mrs. Terry also owned and operated a farm north of Harbor Springs.
They moved to Alanson in 1978.
Mr. Terry is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Daryl (Janet) Kerridge of Oden; one grand-daughter, Mrs. Gearald (Brenda) Robinson of Malpitas, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Audrey Weber of Kirkland, Wash.
Friends suggests memorials to the Readmond-Friendship Fire and Rescue Squad. Envelopes for that purpose are available at the funeral chapel where friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20.
