Petoskey News-Review, Wednesday, 20 May 1992:
Fanabel R. Pope, 72, of Petoskey, died May 19, 1992, at Northern Michigan Hospital.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 21, at the Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey. The Rev. Charles Fullmer of the Petoskey United Methodist Church will officiate and burial will be in Littlefield Township Cemetery, Alanson.
Mrs. Pope was born Nov. 10, 1919, in Alanson, the daughter of George and Elsie (Freed) Ramsby. She grew up and attended school in Alanson. She graduated at the age of 17 as valedictorian of her Alanson High School graduating class.
On July 14, 1938, she married Vincent Pope in Petoskey. After a period of moving, the couple settled in Petoskey in 1968 where they have resided since.
Mrs. Pope was a member of the Petoskey United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, the Order of Eastern Star—Manistee Chapter and the Northern Michigan Hospital Auxiliary. She was a former member of the Petoskey Whirl-Aways square dancing club.
Survivors include her husband, Vincent; three daughters, Mary Jo and her husband John Engwall of Manistee, Susan and her husband Gary Bondeson of Lansing and Julie and her husband Kurt Edenburn of Manistee; one son, Vincent and his wife Alice of Alanson; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Maurice and Gerald Ramsby.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Northern Michigan Hospital Auxiliary. Envelopes for memorial contributions are available at Stone Funeral Home where friends may call from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today. May 20.
