Petoskey News-Review, Thursday, 14 May 1998:
Frances "Frankie" Lucille Czerkie, 67, of Harbor Springs, died May 13, 1998, at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at the United Methodist Church of Harbor Springs. The Rev. James Balfour will officiate. Burial will take place in Lakeview Cemetery, Harbor Springs.
Frankie was born Nov. 4, 1930, in Petoskey, the daughter of Arthur and Ruby (Doty) Herrick. She grew up in Harbor Springs and attended Harbor Springs High School.
On Dec. 14, 1968, she married Louis Robert Czerkie in Harbor Springs.
Frankie worked for Boyne USA as golf shop manager at Boyne Highlands and also worked as dining room manager for The Pier Restaurant in Harbor Springs. She retired in 1992.
Her hobbies included sewing, gardening and cross-stitch. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Louis Robert Czerkie, of Harbor Springs; two daughters, Roxanne Hayes of New York and Paulette Rayon of Harbor Springs; two grandchildren, Ashton Hayes IV and Alaxandra Hayes, both of Glens Falls, N.Y.; three stepsons, Lawrence Czerkie and Robert Czerkie, both of California, and William Czerkie of North Carolina; two brothers, Mahlon Herrick of Florida and Vern Herrick of Michigan; and by one sister, Roberta Olk, of Florida.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the United Methodist Church of Harbor Springs. Envelopes for memorials are available at the Schiller Funeral Chapel of Harbor Springs, where visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday, May 15.
