Petoskey News-Review, Friday, February 27, 1981
Funeral services for Frank Swiss, 56, of Harbor Springs, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Gillian-Erwin Funeral Chapel. Rev. Richard Matson of the Harbor Springs United Methodist Church will officiate and burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
Mr. Swiss died Feb. 25 at Little Traverse Division of Northern Michigan Hospitals.
He was born July 6, 1924, in Chicago, Ill. Mr. Swiss lived in Northville and was employed as a foreman on heavy equipment for General Motors in Detroit from 1950 until 1973 when he retired.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Swiss was also a member of the Petoskey Fraternal Order of Eagles and he was an avid sportsman.
Survivors include his wife, the former Doris Hartung; two sons, Thomas, of Lansing and Douglas of Ypsilanti; four granddaughters; one sister, Mrs. Thomas (Evelyn) Harington of Grand Rapids.
Friends may call at the Gillian-Erwin Funeral Chapel from 2 to4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today (Friday).
Family suggests anyone wishing to honor the memory of Mr. Swiss, may do so by contributing in his name to the Michigan Heart Fund. Envelopes for that purpose are available at the funeral home.
