Rites For Frank Farley, 71 Held Monday Morning

Funeral services for Frank Farley, 71, a Prairie township farmer who died May 22 in a Sioux Falls hospital, were held on Monday in Beresford at St. Teresa's Catholic church.

Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. B. Brady officiated at the solemn high mass. Burial was in the St. John's cemetary under direction of Voegeli Funeral service.

Mr. Farley was born October 24, 1891 near Beresford to Lawrence and Elizabeth O'Connor Farley, parents of five daughters and four sons. He received his schooling in the Rainy Vale rural school.

Mr. Farley married to Mary Lass on June 20, 1923. He had lived all his life southeast of Beresford. For 20 years he served as treasurer for Prairie township. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and St. Teresa's church.

Death came to Mr. Farley after an illness of two weeks with encephalitis. He had been under care at McKennan hospital. He had attained age 71 years, 6 months and 8 days and died at 7:15 a.m., Thursday, May 2, 1963.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gerald in 1936, two brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include the widow, Mary; three sons, Ronald, at Pocatello, Idaho; Dale of Beresford and Franklin at Alcester; four daughters, Mrs. Vincent (Kathleen) Johnson, Hawarden, Ia., Mrs. David (Coleen) Walgenbach, Madison, Wis., and Myrna, at home; also, 24 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Guischer, Alexandria, S. Dak., Alice Farley, Beresford; one brother, Phil of Beresford.

Casket bearers at services Monday were: Clifford Neuroth, Phil Farley, Henry O'Connell, Richard Kiepki, Leonard O'Connor, John O'Connell, Honor bearers were Maurice Harrington, Bill Buthala, Gene Lanham, Joe Boden, Tom Kribell, Julius Hultgren, Joe Kutcher and Ed McGuire.
