Frieda Marie Catob was born 6 August 1910 in Harbor Springs, Emmet, Michigan.
Her parents are Johann Adolph Chudobba and Caroline Luise Christiane Schwerdtfeger.
Frieda was a loving wife to Irwin and mother to her three children. She enjoyed serving her family and was an active Lutheran. Living in Detroit and enjoying their cabin outside of Detroit, her immediate and extended family were the center of her life.
A kind and thoughtful person, she did things in a sweet but quiet way. In her final years, she was diagnosed with cancer yet ultimately died of a heart attack.
Her posterity has grown and her memory will always be cherished.

Word has been recieved of the death on June 18th, of Mrs. Frieda Barlass, while visiting her daughter in Reading, Pa.
Mrs. Barlass is the former Frieda Catob, born in Harbor Springs on August 6, 1911 and was a 1928 graduate of Harbor Springs High School. She was married to Irwin Barlass and he preceded her in death in 1975.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (June) Riley of Reading, Pa. and Mrs. Robert (Anita) Hoisington of Cape Canaveral, Florida; one son, Bruce Barlass of Madison Heights, Michigan; eight grandchildren; one brother, Karl Catob of Yardley, Pa; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Helene) Keller of Havertown, Pa. and Mrs. Gerald (Gertrude) Carmer of Harbor Springs.
Funeral services were held at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Detroit on Saturday, June 21st.

Funeral services for Frieda Catob Barlass, 69, former Harbor Springs resident, will be held Saturday at 11 a. m. at the Emmanuel Luthern Church in Detroit.
Mrs. Barlass died June 18, while visiting her daughter in Reading, Pa.
The former Frieda Catob was born Aug. 6, 1911 in Harbor Springs. She is a 1928 graduate of Harbor Springs High School.
She married Irwin Barlass and he preceded her in death in 1975.
