Petoskey News-Review, Thursday July 10, 1980
Funeral services for Gerald Woodruff, 77, of Oden, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey. Rev. Robert Kyser will officiate and interment will be in the Conway Cemetery.
Mr. Woodruff died July 9 at Lockwood-MacDonald Division of Northern Michigan Hospitals.
He was born June 15, 1903 in Oden and attended Oden schools. On Jan. 31, 1930, he married the former Ruby Compton in Toledo, Ohio. The couple made their home in Detroit and Mr. Woodruff worked for Chrysler Corp., for 37 years, retiring in 1965. The couple returned to this area to make their home.
Mr. Woodruff was a member of the United Auto Workers.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Sandra Adelman; four grandchildren; five brothers, Thomas of Conway, George and Henry of Oden, William of Royal Oak and Wesley of Florida.
The family suggests anyone wishing to honor the memory of Mr. Woodruff, may do so by contributing in his name to the Emmet County Care Facility. Envelopes for that purpose are available at the Stone Funeral Home where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight (Thursday).
