[edit] Letter
- Los Angeles Jan 2nd 1929
My Dear Sister Thelma and family.
Your very dear and welcome letter arrived some day ago and was so glad to here from you and to here the children were doing so well in school.
I arrived here the day befor Chistmas and Paul and Evelyn have kept me going all through the holiday week until I am nearly worn out.
Oh! Such a wonderful time they have shown me. We started out Xmas day to Holywood to see the beautifully decorated christmas trees which there were miles of Also went to the chineas Theatre which is considered the most wonderful theatre in the world. In going in you see the imprints <of hand and feet> in the walks of all the most famous stars with some inscription.
Then we returned home and pertook of a wonderful dinner. We also visited the old spanish mission and patio.
Sunday we went out to Exposition park and visited the museum, coliseum and the big forestry building and there was wonderful band music all around.
It is like being in a new and beautiful world alltho it is said there is a good deal of crime and wickedness here.
New Years day They took me out to Pasidena to see the Tournament of Roses Parade which was the most unique and wonderful or beautiful sight I ever saw or expect to see. There was two hours and a half of floating floats of roses and flowers with 28 bands in uniforms to to acompanying them. Some ot the float were estimated to cost $2000. There we[re] 800,000 people there
Pasidena itself is like Paridise such beautiful homes parks and buildings and trees and flowers. If I could talk to you then I could have [you] know how much I have enjoyed myself.
I do not expect to stay much longer as home is calling and Evelyn and Paul must settle down to their life of work and business.
Paul is a Linotype operator and works nights and Evelyn is going to Frank Wiggins Trade School. Learning Bindery operation she expects she will be able to join hands with Paul in his business.
I have had such a good time almost enough to last me the rest of my life.
Wayne came in New Years with a shipment of cattle will leave for home to night:
I will leave about Sunday.
Frank is enjoying his mission very much.
Will close with Worlds of Love
Wishing you all a happy and prosperous New Year
- P.S. Lila, Amand and Edna are talking of visiting me next spring or summer I would be so tickled if you could agree on a date and all come to gather
With Love Sister True
