Guy Gilman Crane was born May 19, 1874 in Flora, Clay, Illinois.
His parents are Dwight Kellogg Crane and Orena Elizabeth Gilman.
His siblings are: Deloss Orin, Cora Eliza and Charles Clyde Crane.
Guy married Edith Stanley Andrus May 19, 1897 in Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio.
Edith and Guy had four children: Gladys Faith, Dorothy Andrus, Roderic Dwight and Elizabeth Helen.
Guy's father's ancestors settled in New York in the 1700’s and his mother's Gilman ancestors came from the state of Maine.
Guy moved a lot in his profession. Guy and Edith had their first child Gladys Faith in 1898 in Shawnee, Ohio. Dorothy Andrus was born in 1902 in Congo, Ohio. Roderic Dwight was born in 1903 in Delaware, Ohio and Elizabeth Helen was born in 1912 at Rockford, Illinois.
Guy was an Electrical Engineer and his job was to install electric lights in the mines. In Rockford, Illinois, Guy was employed by the city to engineer the first “pay as you enter,” electric railroad cars or street cars and later was made Superintendent of the Water Department. They lived in Rockford until 1914 when he moved his family once again, to Lansing, Michigan where he was made Manager of the Electric Light and Water Department.
The family always attended the First Presbyterian Church wherever they lived..
They next moved to Owosso, Michigan in 1921. Guy moved his family to Bangor, Maine where he was the manager of the Gas Company. Finally he moved to Cincinnati, Ohio to live out his days with Edith.
Guy died of cancer on April 10, 1950 in Walnut Hills, Cincinnati, Ohio. He is buried in the Old German Cemetery in Walnut Hills.

- D. K. Crane, baker and confectioner, born in Seneca County, New York, in the year 1839, son of Edward and Evaline Crane, natives of New York. Immigrated to Ohio about the year 1842, with a family of four children, and had five born to them after coming to Ohio.
The subject of our remarks was married in 1861, to Miss Rena, daughter of Thomas D. and Nancy Gilman, of Waynesville, Warren County, Ohio.
They have been blessed with a family of four children, two of them, Deloss and Cora, dead, and Clyde and Guy, living.
