Henry J. Budek, 67

Henry J. Budek, 67, died Aug. 31, 1989, at his Little Traverse Township residence.

Funeral will be 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2 at the Stone Funeral Home, Petoskey. The Rev. Wilbert Hegener, OFM, will officiate.

Mr. Budek was born July 15, 1922, in Pellston, the son of John Henry and Julia E. (Bodzick) Budek. He attended school at both Lark's Lake and Charlevoix.

Mr. Budek was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Coast Guard.

On March 7, 1969, he married the former Dawn J. Stark in Boyne City. The couple made their home in the Petoskey-Harbor Springs area ever since.

Mr. Budek had been employed as a tool and die maker at McLaughlin Co. in Petoskey for 28 years, retiring in 1988.

He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed dancing.

Survivors include: his wife: two sons, Marty of Petoskey and Ken of Alanson; five sisters, Mrs. George (Lottie) Schmalzried of Conneautville, Pa., Mrs. Richard (Jennie) Bertoni of Ann Arbor, Mrs. Joe (Julia) Gulish and Mary Ringlein both of Flint, Mrs. Jim (Cecelia) Donegan of Saline; three brothers, John Budek of Petoskey, Joe Budek of Brooklyn, Mich. and Alex Budek of Turner, Maine.

The family suggests memorials to the Henry J. Budek Memorial, c/o Lockwood-MacDonald Division, Northern Michigan Hospitals.
