Petoskey News-Review, Monday, December 4, 1961:
Rites Wednesday
Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Stone Funeral Home for Ira G. Hart, 65, of Oden who died Saturday at Little Traverse Hospital where he had been a patient for six days. Rev. R. F. Walker will officiate and interment will be in Greenwood cemetery.
He was born at Oden January 27, 1896 and attended school there. He was a veteran of World War I, serving overseas for two years. For the past 20 years, Mr. Hart had served as field service officer for the V. F. W. and had been active in veterans affairs.
He was married in rites at Petoskey to the former Gertrude Huey on September 20, 1919 and the couple had resided at Oden. He was a carpenter.
Mr. Hart was a member of V. F. W. Post 2051 and the Oden Community Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Mrs. J. R. (Louise) Wright of Harbor Springs; three grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. T. O. Woodruff, of Oden; Mrs. John T. Roves of Pamona, California, Mrs. William Mountain of Detroit, and Mrs. Jesse Martin of Grand Rapids.
The body is at the Stone Funeral Home where friends may call Tuesday afternoon and evening.
