James Van Liew Rites Saturday

Funeral services for James Van Liew, 28, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Stone Funeral Home. Rev. Seward Walton of the Epsilon United Methodist Church will officiate and interment will be in Curtiss cemetery.

Mr. Van Liew died December 3 in an automobile accident in Stanton, Michigan.

He was born in Petoskey on June 14, 1947. He moved to Battle Creek as a young boy and attended Battle Creek schools, graduating from Pennfield High School in June, 1965. He has been living in Petoskey since July, 1975 and was formerly employed by the Indian River Mobil Station.

Survivors include one son, James P. of Battle Creek; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Van Liew of Petoskey and Battle Creek; three brothers, Lawrence of California, Daniel and Ralph of Petoskey; two sisters, Mrs. Carl (Marquita) Fotchman of Sault Ste. Marie and Mrs. Donald (Velma) Aran of California.

The body is at the Stone Funeral Home where friends may call beginning at 7 p.m. this evening.
