Jennie Mary Lasley, 84, of Cross Village, passed away on Sept. 5, 2003.
The Mass of the Resurrection will be held at noon Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cross Village. Deacon Joseph Nelson will officiate and interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Jennie was born March 31, 1919, at Larks Lake, the daughter of John and Agnes (Kosieniak) Wrona. She attended Larks Lake school.
She spent several years in Chicago and after returning to this area she married George Lasley on June 23, 1945, and the couple made their home in the Cross Village area most of their lives. He preceded her in death in 1996.
She had worked outside the home as a housekeeper for many years. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed woodcutting, reading and card playing. She was an active member of Holy Cross Church and Ladies Guild.
Jennie is survived by her children, James (Mary) of Cloverdale, Ore., Theodore (Laurel) of Scottville, Mich., Andrew of Cross Village, William (Lynn) of Canton, Mich., Robert (Debbie) of Parker, Colo., Deborah Root (Gerald) of Cross Village. Also surviving are grandchildren, Janelle Larder, Scott Lasley, Corey Lasley, Brienne Glover, Allison Lasley, Blake Lasley, Justin Lasley, Carly Lasley, Christine Lasley; one great-grandson, Caleb Lasley; and a stepgreat-grandddaughter, Sierra; a sister, Mary Kushak, of Harbor Springs.
Jennie was preceded in death by her siblings, Pete, Frank, Stephen, Lewis "Duke," Joseph, Sophia Marszalec, Nellie Podsada, Anna Kaniarz, Estelle Mazurek.
Friends may call at Holy Cross Church beginning at 5:30 p.m. today, Monday, Sept. 8, and a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
The family was served by the Schiller Funeral Home of Harbor Springs.
