Jennie Bodzick, 91, of Larks Lake, died April 9, 1996, at the Emmet County Medical Care Facility in Harbor Springs.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, April 12, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Larks Lake. The Revs. Albert Langheim, O.F. M., and Flavius Czuba, O. F. M., will be the celebrants. Interment will take place in St. Nicholas Cemetery.
Mrs. Bodzick was born Aug. 1, 1904, in Cross Village, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Romanek) Wiklanski. She attended Larks Lake School.
On June 8, 1926, she married John Bodzick at Larks Lake. The couple lived in Chicago, Ill., where she worked as a waitress in restaurants until they moved to Larks Lake in 1946. Mr. Bodzick preceded her in death in 1968.
Mrs. Bodzick worked at the Crows Nest Restaurant for many years, retiring in the early 1970's.
She enjoyed gardening and crocheting, and enjoyed making afghans.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Eleanor Serva and her husband, Walter, of Cross Village; one son, Raymond Bodzick and his wife, Ann, of Indian River; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Josephine Wareck and her husband, Si, of Petoskey. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Bodzick was preceded in death by one sister, Sophie Wrona; and by six brothers, Joseph, Peter, Frank, John, Stanley and Walter.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Nicholas Church.
Visitation will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Aprill 11, at St. Nicholas Church in Larks Lake. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Arrangements were handled by the Schiller Funeral Chapel of Harbor Springs.
