Joseph Fettig
Rites Friday

A Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Joseph P. Fettig, 66, Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church. Rev. Father Adolph Thillman, O.F.M. will celebrate the mass and interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery.

Mr. Fettig died unexpectedly yesterday at Little Traverse Hospital shortly after admittance.

He was born in Petoskey May 22, 1905 and lived all his life in Bear Creek Township.

He attended St. Francis Schools, was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church and the Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Chief Petoskey Farm Bureau.

Mr. Fettig had been employed by Miohigan Tannery and Extract Co. for 22 years and was with the Penn-Dixie Co. for 19 1/2 years until retirement in May, 1970.

On October 19, 1933 he married Nellie Robinson at St. Francis Church.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Quinton (Patricia) Kuebler and Mrs. George H. (Michelle) Swadling, both of Petoskey, Mrs. Peter H. (Robetta) Kohnen, of Clarkston and Mrs. Stanley (Gerry Kae) Boris, of Boyne City; one son, Bernard, of Ottisville; nine grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. George Steffel and Josephine Fettig, both of Petoskey, Mrs. Robert Quinlan, of Mt. Pleasant and Mrs. Paul Junemann, of Saginaw and five brothers, Frank, Ed, Raymond and Leon, all of Petoskey and Walter, of Saginaw.

The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Winchester Hallead Funeral Home where friends may call.
