Funeral services for Lela C. Dettweiler, 77, of Alanson, who died Oct. 4, 1984, at Little Traverse Division of Northern Michigan Hospitals, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Steno Funeral Home. The Rev. Richard Matson will officiate and burial will be in the Littlefield Township Cemetery, Alanson.
The former Lela C. Armock was born July 7, 1907, in Alanson, the daughter of Benjamin and Rhoda Armock. She attended Alanson schools and graduated from Alanson High School in 1925.
In July 1925, she married William Dettweiler in Petoskey. The couple made their home in Alanson. Mr. Dettweiler preceded her in death on Aug. 14, 1972.
Mrs. Dettweiler is survived by two brothers, Albert Swadling and Rufus Armock, both of Alanson; one sister, Mrs. Herbert (Maude) England of Alanson; several nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials to the Emmet County Unit of the American Cancer Society or the Hospice of Petoskey. Envelopes for those purposes may be obtained from the Stone Funeral Home where the family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today.
