Petoskey News-Review, Jul 1996:
Lowell Dale Lamkin, 96, of Good Hart, died July 2, 1996 at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey. A memorial service will be held at 2pm, July 5, at the United Methodist Church of Harbor Springs with Rev. James Balfoud II officiating.
Mr. Lamkin was born June 28, 1900, the son of Lowell and Tessa (Hill) Lamkin. He grew up in Good Hart and attended Michigan State University.
On Oct 10, 1928 he married Beatrice Morrison in Pickford. She preceded him in death on March 28, 1991. On April 16, 1992 he married Leola Cooper in Louisville, Ky.
In 1928, Dale moved back to Good Hart from Detroit where he managed a Kroger store and worked as a bus driver and custodian for Walled Lake Community Schools. Dale took over the family farm in Good Hart and worked as a carpenter for Woodland Builders for several years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed gardening and fishing. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the "GEEKS" gourmet club, and Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include his wife, Leola; two sons, Ketih Lowell Lamkin and friend, Janet Greiner, of Good Hart and Burton Lamkin and wife, Sally of Ann Arbor; 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and several nephews.
Arrangements were handled by Schiller Funeral Chapel
