Marian L. Cosens, 75, of Petoskey, died Jan. 25, 2004, at Northern Michigan Hospital.
Mrs. Cosens was born Marian Lucille Bodzick on June 30, 1928, in Petoskey, the daughter of Alex and Alma (Townsend) Bodzick. She attended Petoskey schools and graduated in 1946.
On Nov. 4, 1950, she married John C. Cosens in Petoskey, where they made their home. He preceded her in death in 1987.
Marian worked for St. Francis schools for several years. She then went to work for the Emmet County Sheriff's Department and later went to work for Woolworth's, where she retired in the 1970's.
Marian was an avid bowler for many years. Later on, she enjoyed playing cards with her friends and going out for pizza with her co-workers.
Very special to Marian were her grandchildren and her cat Tiger.
Over the years, she enjoyed babysitting, reading books, coloring and doing puzzles with all seven of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her five children, daughters, Teresa Hayes (Mike) of Onalaska, Wis., and Patti Cosens of Petoskey, sons, John (Marsha) Cosens of Petoskey, Jerry (Karen) Cosens of Petoskey and James Cosens of Petoskey. She is also survived by her sisters Bea Clark of Sparta, Mich., and Stella Bodzick of Oakridge, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William.
There are no services scheduled at this time.
Arrangements are in the care of Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey.
