Petoskey News Review, Friday, July 2, 1999:
Nina Rachel Daniels, 72, of Harbor Springs, died July 1, 1999, at the Emmet County Medical Care Facility in Harbor Springs.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 5, at the Stutsmanville Chapel in Harbor Springs. Pastor Ed Warner will officiate. Interment will be in Joy Valley Cemetery in Springvale Township.
Mrs. Daniels was born March 6, 1927, in Petoskey, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Hickman. She worked for Barnum Brothers in Petoskey and Emmet County Medical Care Facility in Harbor Springs.
Survivors include two sons, Jim Hurd and his wife Judy of Harbor Springs, and Frank Bond of Petoskey; two daughters, Charlene (Bond) Marihugh of Harbor Springs, and Jeanne Arquette and her husband Melvin, of Belleville; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Rose Billings of Harbor Springs, and Lula Schlappi and her husband, Forest, of Conway; her brothers, Herb Hickman and his wife, Irene, of Petoskey, Jim Hickman and his wife, Betty, of Seattle, Wash., John and Evelyn Hickman of Petoskey, and Rolland and Margaret Hickman of Mishawaka, Ind.; and many nieces and nephews.
Nina was preceded in death by her sister May Dunshee; her brother, Alton Hickman; and by her son-in-law, Robert Marihugh.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Monday, July 5, at the Stutsmanville Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family and sent in care of James Hurd, 718 E. Hathaway Road, Harbor Springs, Mich. 49740.
Arrangements were handled by Schiller Funeral Home in Harbor Springs.
