Roderic Kinsey Andrus was born 6 October 1847 at Poughkeepsie, Dutchess, New York.

His parents are Enos Clark Andrus and Elizabeth Boughton Whitman.

His siblings are: Newel Parker Andrus, Helen Josephine Andrus and Francis Boughton Andrus.

He was an ornamental japanner he worked at least from 1881 in Springfield, Clark, Ohio and then in Cincinnati by 1900.

Rod married Katherine Elizabeth Leinweber on 1 June 1871 at Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio.

They had two daughters: Edith Stanley and Elizabeth Helen Andrus.

Roderic died 2 March 1937 in Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio. He is buried in the Walnut Hills Cemetery, Cincinnati.

Roderick K. Andrus, 90, brother of Frank B. of 18 Virginia Ave. died Monday at his home in Cincinatti. A descendant of John Andrus who settled in Torrington, Connecticut in 1640. Mr. Andrus was born in this city and spent his early life here. Graduated from Poughkeepsie High School when it was located where Germania Hall now stands. In addition to his brother, Mr. Andrus is survived by 3 second cousins, Otis N. Alen, Mrs. Watson Ellsworth and Grace Allen of this city. Funeral and burial in Cincinnati, Ohio.
