Rose Cole, 90

Funeral services for Rose Cole, 90, of Harbor Springs, were held today (Monday) at the United Methodist Church in Harbor Springs. Rev. Milton Ten Have officiated, followed by a Rebekah service. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery.

Mrs. Cole died Feb. 3 at her home in Harbor Springs.

She was born Sept. 1, 1887 in Mascoutah, Ill. In 1912 she came to Harbor Springs and married Elbert Palmiter. The couple made their home in Harbor Springs and operated a florist shop on Main Street. He died in 1931 and in 1940 she married Andrew Cole in Petoskey. He preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 1951.

Mrs. Cole continued to operate the flower shop until 1970 when she retired.

She was one of the oldest members of the Harbor Springs United Methodist Church, joining the church in 1913. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge; a past noble grand; was past president of Auxiliary of Canton I.O.O.F.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Bud (Celeste) Howell of Harbor Springs; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
