Petoskey News-Review, Tuesday, July 16, 1991:
Sophie V. Wrona, 77, of Cross Village, died July 16, 1991, at the Emmet County Medical Care Facility.
Funeral mass is scheduled 10 a.m. Thursday, July 18, at Holy Cross Church in Cross Village. The Rev. Laurus Rhode, OFM, will be the celbrant and interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Cross Village.
The former Sophie V. Wiklanski was born Nov. 5, 1913, at Lark's Lake, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Romanek) Wiklanski. She attended Lark's Lake school and on June 30, 1934, she married Andrew Wrona at Lark's Lake. They resided in Chicago for a short time before moving in 1946 to Lark's Lake and Cross Village.
Mr. and Mrs. Wrona had owned and operated the Crow Bar (now the Crow's Nest) in Cross Village for many years, retiring in 1970. He preceded her in death in 1983.
She is survived by one brother, Stanley Wiklanski of Bay Shore; and two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Boszick of Lark's Lake and Mrs. Simon (Josephine) Wareck of Petoskey; many nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials to Holy Cross Church. Envelopes for memorials will be available at Holy Cross Church where friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, and a parish rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.
Arrangements are being handled by the Schiller Funeral Chapel of Harbor Springs.
