Petoskey News-Review, Monday, 27 Nov 1995:
Stella L. Wrona, 82, of Cross Village, died Nov. 25, 1995, at her daughter’s home.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cross Village. The Rev. Al Langheim will officiate. Burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mrs. Wrona was born Feb. 21, 1913, at Larks Lake, the daughter of John and Mary (Kowalski) Zmikly. She grew up and attended school at Larks Lake.
On May 28, 1934, she married Jane Wrona at Larks Lake. He preceded her in death Aug. 6, 1975.
Mrs. Wrona lived in the Cross Village area her entire life. She worked at the Crow Bar, which is now the Crow’s Nest, for more than 20 years.
She was an avid gardner and took pride in her roses. She enjoyed chocheting, quilting and baking.
Mrs. Wrona was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Ladies Guild. She was also a member of the choir.
Survivors include one daughter, Bobbi Walsh and her husband, Bill, of Harbor Springs; three grandchildren, Julie Kathy and Vince; two brothers, Joe Zmikly of Hazel Park, and Louie Zmikly of Garden City; and by one sister, Wanda Swiss, of Cross Village. Mrs. Wrona was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers and one sister.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Holy Cross Church or to Hospice of Little Traverse Bay. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today, Nov. 27, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cross Village. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the church.
Arrangements were handled by the Schiller Funeral Chapel of Harbor Springs.
