[edit] A note for Steve — red links and redirects

Steve, did you notice I cleaned up this page a bit? I linked every name on the page even though many of them don't have biographies yet. It's common to see red links on Wikipedia, and red links encourage contribution to the site by implying that those pages should exist even though they don't yet.

I also took the liberty of creating some redirects to make linking to people easier. You can now link straight to Martha Ann Truman for instance, because there's a page there that redirects you to the Truman, Martha Ann (1850-1892) article. To create a redirect page, you simply create the new page and put in the following code:

#REDIRECT [[Article name]]

Obviously creating redirects like these will only work up to a certain point, namely the point when you start to have biographies on the site for multiple people with the same names. When that starts happening, instead of creating redirects, you make disambiguation pages. See the George Bush page on Wikipedia for an example of a disambiguation page. What do you think of this idea? — Joey (talk·edits) 22:08, 3 February 2007 (MST)
