Theolaine A. Butler

KALAMAZOO - Theolaine Alba Butler, 89, of Kalamazoo, died Monday evening, June 27, 2011, at Bronson Methodist Hospital, following a brief illness.

She had been blessed throughout most of her life with good health and lived her entire life in the Kalamazoo area. She was born March 26, 1922 in Gobles, the daughter of August Carl Melching and Alba Esther Armstrong Crew Melching. Theolaine was the last of 11 children.

On Feb. 8, 1941, she was united in marriage with Elmer Paul Butler, who preceded her in death in 1985. Theolaine was also preceded in death by her parents and 10 siblings.

She is survived by four sons, Kenneth P. (Susan), Christian E. (Diane), Douglas T. (Barbara) and David G. Butler; six grandchildren, Fawn, Bradley (Rochelle), Kristen, Nichole (Matthew), Luke and Tanner; and six great-grandchildren, Ariel, Curtis, Christian, Heidi, Olivia and Alana.

Private services will be held with burial at Robinson Cemetery, Gobles.
