Petoskey News Review, Monday, 26 Sep 1994:
Wade Gerry Swiss, 30, formerly of Harbor Springs, died Sept. 22, 1994, in Port Huron.
Funeral was held 10:30 a. m. today, Sept. 26, at Schiller Funeral Chapel of Harbor Springs. The Rev. Thomas Cook officiated. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Harbor Springs.
Mr. Swiss was born July 4, 1964, in Petoskey, the son of Gerry and Gertrude Joanne (Howse) Swiss.
He attended Harbor Springs schools where he was on the varsity football and basketball teams. He graduated in 1982, He then attended North Central Michigan College in Petoskey and Northwestern Michigan University in Traverse City. He earned a bachelor's degree in business management from Michigan State University.
Since completing college, he had worked for Chrysler Corp. at the Marysvale Plant. He made his home in Port Huron.
Mr. Swiss enjoyed fishing and snowmobiling.
Survivors include his daughter, Megan and her mother, the former Sandra Burns, of Port Huron; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gerry Swiss of Harbor Springs; one sister and brother-in-law, Monica and David Steinmeyer of Rockford; one brother and sister-in-law, Brett and Carmen Swiss of Harbor Springs; his maternal grandmothers, Edna Swiss and Gertrude Carmer, both of Harbor Springs; one niece and five nephews.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of choice. Visitation was held Sunday, Sept. 25, at the Schiller Funeral Chapel of Harbor Springs.
