Petoskey News-Review, Wednesday, August 16, 1972:
Services for William T. Dettweiler, 85, will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Stone Funeral Home. Rev. Richard Cornelius will officiate and interment will be in the Alanson Cemetery.
Mr. Dettweiler died at Lockwood-MacDonald Hospital Monday Evening. He had been a patient there for five days.
He was born August 6, 1887 in Maple River Twp. and served with the 52nd engineers, U. S. Army, during World War I.
On July 8, 1925 he married Lela Armock in Petoskey and they made their home in the Alanson area all their married life.
Mr. Dettweiler was a charter member of the VFW No. 2051 and a member of the Emmet County Farm Bureau.
Survivors include his wife and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Stone Funeral Home.
