William Kritcher, 88

William Kritcher, 88, longtime Petoskey barber, died Aug. 26, 1984, at the Emmet County Medical Care Facility in Harbor Springs.

He was born June 19, 1896, in Horton Bay and attended school in North Bay. Mr. Kritcher had owned and operated his own barber shop in both Petoskey and Grand Rapids for many years.

Mr. Kritcher and his wife also owned and operated the Kritcher Cabins on Croooked Lake for many years.

He married the former Alma Rasmussen in Nebraska in 1916. She preceded him in death Oct. 1, 1947.

He then married the former Majeska Woodruff on Nov. 19, 1951, in Grand Rapids.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Stan Kritcher of Petoskey and Richard Kritcher of Grand Rapids; one stepson, Tom Niles of Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Lavina King of Monmouth, Ill., Mrs. Rosie Haskins of Saginaw and Mrs. Jenny Leist of Petoskey; many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were handles by Stone Funeral Home, Petoskey. There will be no services or visitation at the funeral home.
