Formerly of Jackson St.
Died Sunday, December 15, 2002. Winona was born May 31, 1918 in Gobles, MI, the daughter of August and Alba (Crew) Melching, and was a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident.
Winona was a loving mother and grandmother and was dedicated to raising her children and grandchildren. She was an active member of the Eagles Lodge, where she worked bingo for many years.
Winona was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Rabb in 1984; and by 2 children, Richard Rabb and Janice Hegelmann; and by grandchildren, Stephen Rabb, Richard Rabb Jr. and Robert Rabb Jr.
Surviving are 2 daughters and 3 sons, Julia (Larry) Baker of Kalamazoo, John (Sharon) Rabb of Mattawan, Robert (Pamela) Rabb of Portage, Daniel (Patricia) Rabb of Hastings and Elizabeth (Mark) Provenzano of Grosse Pointe, MI; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grand-children; a sister, Theoline Butler of Mattawan; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1:00 o'clock Thursday at the LANGELAND Family Funeral Homes MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 622 S. Burdick St., 343-1508 with the Rev. Richard Liggett, of the Lord's Hand Outreach Ministry, officiating.
Cremation will follow services with inurnment in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorial contributions in Winona's memory be made to the American Cancer Society or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
