Petoskey News-Review, Monday, December 22, 1975:
Funeral services for Daniel G. Boda, Sr., 62, will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Clements Catholic Church in Pellston. Rev. Fr. Odoric Akwick, OFM will officiate adn interment will be in St. Clements cemetery.
Mr. Boda died Saturday at Little Traverse Hospital.
He was born January 31, 1913 in Burt Lake, Mich. He moed to Pellston as a young boy with his parents where he attended school. He graduated from Pellston High School in 1934.
On January 5, 1942, he married the former Leota McDonald in Cheboygan. The couple have made their home in Pellston since.
Mr. Boda was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army Air Force in the European theatre.
He owned and operated his own barber shop in Pellston from 1960 to 1970 when he retired.
He was a member of St. Clements Catholic Church and the St. Clements Men’s Club.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Daniel G. Boda, Jr., of Pellston; six daughters, Mrs. Rodney (Donna) Searles, Levering, Mrs. Gordon (Carolyn) Taglauer of Afton, Mrs. Charles (Marilyn) McDonald, Indian River, Arlene, Phebe and Sharalee Boda, all living at home; six grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Anna Boda of Grand Rapids; one brother, Floyd Boda of Lansing; five sisters, Sue Boda of Ada, Mrs. Joseph (Evelyn) Massey of Detroit, Mrs. James (Hazel) Kline of Lansing, Mrs. David (Viola) Warren of Cypress, Texas, Delores Boda of Detroit.
The body is at the Stone Funeral Home where friends may call beginning at 7 p.m. tonight (Monday). There will be a Rosary recited at 8 p.m. tonight.
