- Query:
- Researching the career of this pilot, killed in a mid air collision on 12 April 1945.
- During the mission of 30 November 1944, Lt Lightfoot's P47 received heavy flak damage during a strafing attack on a train near Wurzburg. He was forced to land on the continent and the aircraft was subsequently salvaged along with that of Lt David Mauldin.
- Does anyone out there know the serial number and/or code letter and whether it was his assigned aircraft?
- Thanks
